Samadhi members together with the Sri Lankan Arts Society – NJ, is pleased to announce the first event of the 2006 Summer Enrichment Program for our children. The Photography Workshop will be held on Sunday the July 23rd from 2 – 5PM at the Woodlot Park in South Brunswick (same place where we had the Avurudu Festival).
Program Description:
World is a spectacular place. It never ceases producing amazing sights worth venturing.
What other season is best to engage in it than the summer?
Let's look at it from a different perspective – through the lens of a camera.
See how the 3 dimensional objects get captured into a 2 dimensional form; and then how the basics of shape, color, and texture take their place in it.
This workshop is specifically targeted to the youth to improve their visual comprehension. It will start with a short indoor introductory presentation. The children will then be released to their own devices in the outdoors to capture photos according to a theme. Afterwards, the captured photos will be loaded to a computer. A selected set of photos will be presented and reviewed.
·Who can attend? Anyone who can operate a camera on his/her own.
·What should be brought? Any digital camera, along with its USB cable to load photos to a computer. (Make sure its battery is fully charged to last the session and its memory card has enough free space to play around.)
·What if there isn't a digital camera? Arranging to share with another person who has one is another option, but it is highly recommended to bring one each. Even without a camera you can still benefit from the presentations.
